Hi all, here are a few important chapter updates.....
1.) Next Training Clinic at Bent Creek - This Sunday, 4/27, is our next training clinic. Unfortunately, there have been ongoing forest fires in the Greenwood WMA area. Therefore, for those of you who are attending the clinic, we are switching the grounds to Bent Creek Hunting Preserve for 4/27, where we held our last two clinics. Starting time will be 7:30. We will meet at the same location we did last time which is essentially the back end of Bent Creek.
2.) Gunners Clinic on 5/10 - for those of you who are interested in becoming an approved gunner for our chapter we are going to conduct a "gunner's clinic" at our 5/10 training clinic. You can attend the "gunner's clinic"whether or not you intend on training your dog that day. To sign up for the "gunner's clinic" simply go to our "Order Birds" page for the 5/10 training clinic as you normally would and in the comments section indicate you would like to be included in the "gunner's clinic". We will be getting that done first thing in the morning so you will still be able to train your dog if you choose to do so. Bring a 12 or 20 gauge break open shotgun, size 6 or smaller shotshells, your current NJ hunting license, and the required hunter's orange. If you are already on our approved list there is no need for you to attend this session.
3.) Invitational Training Clinic on 6/14.- we have decided to do an informal Invitational Training Clinic for the chapter rather than an official two day Invitational AIMS Clinic. We have several Invitational Judges in the chapter and a number of members who have previously qualified dogs at that level, including Tim Clark, who is one of the most experienced Invitational trainers in the country, so we feel confident we can put together a good educational event. More details to follow.
Thanks and hope to see you all soon at an upcoming event. Good luck with your training endeavors.
